DC Current Sensors 0-40,000A F.S.

Ohio Semitronics has a wide selection of DC Current Sensors with ranges available from 100mA through 40,000A. DC sensors allow the measurement of DC currents via a direct connection, conductor through-hole, or clamp-on/split-core.

Open Loop Hall Effect DC Current Transducers

Ohio Semitronics' basic offering of DC Current Transducers includes seven different models. Each model has multiple analog output options for connection to PLC's and other controllers, as well as clamp-on options, and various window sizes. Four models are covered below.

CTG Hall Effect Current Transducer

The CTG Current Transducer, clamp-on or solid-core, is a Hall-effect sensor integrated with an output amplifier. The CTG series offers a number of current ranges, outputs and sensor dimensions. Hall-effect current measurement is a non-contact technique that measures the magnetizing effects of current flowing in a conductor. This measurement type offers a number of benefi ts not afforded by conventional direct or contact (in-line) measurement. Some of these benefi ts are high electrical isolation between conductor and sensor output, high overload capability, fast response to input changes and no power consumption on measured circuit.

Inputs range from 0-5000Adc. Outputs include ±10Vdc and ±5Vdc with various sensor sizes/window sizes.

CTH Hall Effect DC Current Transducer

The CTH Series, clamp-on and solid-core, Current Transducer is a Hall-effect sensor integrated with an output amplifier. The CTH Series Current Transducer offers a 4-20mA, 4-12-20mA, 5V, or 10V output and can be operated from either a 24Vdc source or a low-cost 24Vac control transformer. Available options are split-core, extended temperature range, ruggedized design, and 12Vdc or 15Vdc instrument power.

Inputs range from 0-1500Adc. Outputs include ±10Vdc, ±5Vdc, 4-20mAdc, and 4-12-20mAdc with various sensor sizes/window sizes. Sensor size "B" (shown above) cannot be split-core.

CTLC Hall Effect DC Current Transducer

The CTLC series current transducers are Hall-effect current sensors with signal conditioning and an output amplifier in a single compact package. All models are supplied in a split-core configuration for ease of installation. Hall-effect current measurement is a non-contact technique that measures the magnetizing effects of current flowing in a conductor. Advantages of this technique include high electrical isolation between the measured conductor and transducer output, high over-range capability and fast response to input changes.

Inputs range from 0-3000Adc. Outputs include ±10Vdc, ±5Vdc, and 4-20mAdc, with various sensor sizes/window sizes. Accuracy across all models is ±0.5% F.S.

CTLP Hall Effect Current Transducer

The model CTLP is a Hall-effect current sensor with signal conditioning in a single compact package. Hall-effect current measurement is a non-contact technique that measures the magnetizing effects of current flowing in a conductor. Advantages of this technique include high electrical isolation between the measured conductor and transducer output, high over-range capability and fast response to input changes. This loop-powered design simplifies installation by reducing instrument power and output signal connections to a simple 2-wire interface.

Inputs range from 0-3000Adc. Outputs include ±10Vdc, ±5Vdc, and 4-20mAdc, with various sensor sizes/window sizes. Every model contains a 4-20mAdc loop-powered output.
