Job Description

Summary/Objective

The position’s primary functions are:

  1. Pull, visually inspect, and stage goods based on the shipping schedule for sales orders.
  2. Package items for shipping, complete required export documentation, and enter shipping information in various carrier portals.
  3. Primary daily responsibility is packing and shipping. When all scheduled shipments are processed, this position will assist with receiving and pulling kits

Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Visually inspect all items pulled for shipment to insure all items are damage free, properly labeled, and complete.
  • Package products for shipment and understand proper packaging procedures to protect items from in-transit damage.
  • Review sales orders for special instructions with regard to packaging, documentation, or shipping procedure.
  • Package items for both domestic and international shipments.
  • Must understand in detail the various procedures and requirements for international shipping.
  • Enters shipping information on various carrier portals including UPS, FedEx and DHL.
  • Monitor shipping materials and requisition items based on SS and EOQ schedules.
  • Operate a forklift when needed.
  • Offload freight deliveries when necessary.
  • Perform cycle counts, pull job kits, and re-stock shelves.
  • Serve as the primary backup for receiving and stockroom.
  • Assist in keeping the warehouse organized.
  • Other duties as required/assigned or business needs dictate.

 

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Experience with computer data entry
  • Microsoft Word and Excel experience is a plus
  • Ability to maneuver boxes weighing up to 70 pounds
  • Forklift experience preferred

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, first shift position Monday through Friday with occasional overtime.

  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and other office equipment. This role may occasionally use hand tools or power tools. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
