Ohio Semitronics, INC is seeking an experienced Full-Time Development Engineer to join our team in Columbus, OH! We are industry pioneers in developing cutting-edge electrical measurement solutions. With over 50 years of expertise, our high-quality sensors, transducers, and meters accurately measure critical electrical parameters. As our Development Engineer, your role will be to lead projects to research, design, and develop the technology, configurations and processes required to satisfy customer needs. Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise development teams to create a design concept consistent with design specifications- considering factors such as performance, cost, development time, agency approvals, etc.
  • Research, select and recommend materials. Communicate product requirements to suppliers including performance, quality, mechanical fit, cost, etc.
  • Ensure exchange of information with other groups or team members as required- Drafting, productions, etc. Very schematics, printed circuit board designs, bills of material, etc.
  • Maintain process integrity by requiring full performance verification for all products prior to releasing design
  • Coordinate and/or conduct testing required to achieve agency approvals- UL, CE, military, etc.
  • Develop production testing and troubleshooting procedures and verify availability or appropriate test equipment
  • Assist with creation of product documentation- specification sheets, assembly information, operating and/or service manuals, product labeling, etc.
  • Work with team members and other company departments as required to meet project milestones and to accomplish the previously listed duties and responsibilities
  • Work with sales and marketing to identify customer needs and create design specifications for new products.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in electrical power measurement, transducer and/or meter design and application, or other similar experience.
  • Strong firmware development skills are required along with linear and digital circuit design capabilities
  • Ability to deliver results on technical challenges, display a solid understanding of the theories and practices of electrical engineering including a full understanding of the OSI knowledge database

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Military mechanical or electronic designs is preferred
  • Recognition as a technical expert by peers and management

Experience Level

Minimum 6-8 years of experience in electrical power measurement, transducer and/or meter design and application, or other similar experience.

Schedule

Normal Office Hours, with flexibility.  Minimal travel.
