Fast Response Current and Voltage Transducers for Monitoring Critical Systems

Print
April 2, 2019

Fast measurement transducers can send feedback to critical system monitors to shut down sensitive equipment in a short amount of time as part of the overall effort to protect a system.

Capturing change in Voltage or Current levels is possible with an RMS measuring transducer that is tuned for a 25ms response time. This fast response allows the input change to be pronounced through the analog output in the period of around 2 cycles of an AC waveform at 60Hz.

Voltage: VTR-****Y07

Direct voltage options for 150Vac, 300Vac or 600Vac range with options for analog outputs of 1mAdc, 4-20mAdc, 5Vdc or 10Vdc full scale. Y07 is the special suffix to indicate 25ms response for this family of voltage transducer.

Current: CTR-****Y04

Direct current options up to 20Aac with options for analog outputs of 1mAdc, 4-20mAdc, 5Vdc or 10Vdc full scale. Y04 is the special suffix to indicate 25ms response for this family of current transducer.

3 Phase Multi-Function Option - DM5

A similar result is achieved with the 3 phase multi-function transducer DM5F- where 3 lines of voltage or current can be measured and converted into a maximum of 4 analog outputs (0-20mAdc each), or by using the optional RS485 Modbus RTU serial output.

The DM5F- meter detects the input change at a selected minimum of ½ cycle for a throughput total minimum response time of 15ms. The small, din-rail design saves on space and only requires 1 power hook-up for a three input system.
